A visual novel/strategy game set in the future after the last world war, Gadget Trial by Kogado Studio tells the story of the E-Series – A group of newtype artificial human weapons created by the Eastern Treaty Union (ETU) under Project “Next-E”. The E-Series were cyborgs (who are cute moe girls) made of organic bio-metals and can multiply themselves like bacteria. However, they have been modified and separated into two existing categories: Type White and Type Black. Because of this, they are pitted against each other in a series of battle trials. The ultimate goal of the trials is to whether or not which type will be adopted by the armed forces. This game has absolutely NO sexual content.
The battle system is reminiscent of Advance Wars and Kogado’s own Power Dolls series (I think Gadget Trial is a spiritual sequel of sorts to Power Dolls). Units can gain points from their battle activity (such as destroying an enemy or winning it) and spend them to get new custom units.
The game also has Challenge Mode, which lets you play on the battle maps unlocked during the Campaign mode or on the Challenge mode maps, and Original Mode which lets you play on a map created with the Map Editor.
